Does Wrought Iron Fence Require Welding to Install It?

People looking to install a fence on their own often won’t consider a wrought iron fence because they think it requires welding to install it.  However, that’s not the case!  Our iron fence (and quite honestly the majority of them out there) utilize some sort of bracket and screw that allows installation with simple tools just about every homeowner has.

In the image below, you can see the main components of our iron fence: the post, the fence panel (picket and rail), the bracket and self-tapping screw.

To install your iron fence panel, you simply slide that bracket onto the rail, place it against the post and then drive the self-tapping screw in with a power screwdriver/ drill.  The screw will drill its own hole into the post and cut the threads before seating.  You can see what the final product looks like in the image below:

No welding is required to install metal iron fence panels and its easily done with common tools most folks have.  You can also watch out YouTube video that goes over the iron fence installation steps below.  It shows a clear demonstration of the iron fence components and how they all go together:
