Whether it is for aesthetics or security, a wrought iron fence is perfect for use around a cemetery or family plot. Few types and styles of fences evoke the proper feel and look for a final resting place. We get lots of requests for our iron fence to be used around a cemetery or family plot.
Sometimes the fence is being used around a new cemetery. Other times our iron fence is used to replace or expand upon much older 150-200 year old iron fence already in place. Our Stronghold Iron fence is especially used or spec’d for around historic cemeteries. A lot of times, the newer styles of fence don’t quite give the right feel and look around a cemetery or family plot.
Iron fence is excellent as a security fence around cemeteries as its strong and resilient to bending. Cemeteries don’t always have caretakers on duty, so having a strong fence that can handle the general public being unsupervised around it is generally a good idea. If security is of the utmost concern, you can weld the panels directly to the posts or utilize a specialized security screw to make them tamper-proof.
One trend we’ve seen in the last few year is use of our iron fence around smaller family cemetery plots on private property. This may be a smaller 16ft x 16ft or 40ft x 40ft cemetery that the iron fence is used to surround. It gives a reverent and sophisticated look for a family final resting place and requires little maintenance while lasting for decades.
